Elizabeth Smart will share her inspiring story of strength, forgiveness and faith at The Samaritan Inn’s 3rdannual Inn Bloom luncheon on May 9, 2019. The event will be held at the beautiful, new Delta Hotel by Marriott in Allen.
When she was 14 years old, Elizabeth gained national attention when she was abducted from her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. For 9 months Elizabeth endured threats and abuse by her captors before police rescued her. Today Elizabeth is a wife and mother, as well as an author, advocate, and contributor to ABC News. In her powerful new book, “Where There’s Hope”, Elizabeth shares her insight into what it takes to overcome trauma, find the strength to move on, and how to reclaim one’s life. Her amazing story is guaranteed to inspire every Inn Bloom guest. “Elizabeth’s transformation from victim to advocate is incredibly courageous,” said Melissa Bettis, Chief Development Officer at The Inn. “She knows first-hand the determination it takes to overcome the impossible. While her situation is unique, many of our residents experience similar feelings and emotions as they work to regain their independence.”
Guests will enjoy an elegant seated brunch in support of The Samaritan Inn’s mission to end homelessness in North Texas.
