Plano Parks and Recreation and the Plano Senior Recreation Center invite adults of all ages to participate in its 16th annual very unique Senior Information & Wellness Fair Monday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Plano Event Center, 2000 E. Spring Creek Pkwy.
This unique event provides a wealth of information for those of retirement and pre-retirement age to enhance their ability to plan for future years. Visitors can receive free health screenings and take home information about a multitude of services available in our area. You won’t want to miss this fun and informative event (complete with door prizes). The fair is free and open to everyone.
“While we can’t always predict what we will experience as we grow older, we do know that the most common changes are related to health, living arrangements, the need for assistance, finances, and end-of-life issues,” said Karen Williams, supervisor for the Plano Senior Recreation Center. “Through this event, we encourage families to talk about these important life issues and plan ahead so they can better cope with changes, avoid crisis decision-making, and retain personal control and independence.”
More than 50 vendors will be on site providing free information and services regarding a variety of important topics, including:
Senior living options
Senior moving services
Personal care services
Fire safety tips from the Plano Fire-Rescue
Personal safety tips from the Plano Police Department
Blood pressure, blood sugar and BMI screenings
