Event Details

Tartuffe is one of the most famous theatrical comedies by Molière. The characters of Tartuffe, Elmire, and Orgon are considered among the greatest classical theatre roles.

This French Renaissance comedy satirizes the life of the ruling classes in 17th Century Paris. Tartuffe convinces everyone that he is more honest than he really is, and when people slowly find out the truth, everyone is forced to re-think their views of social class and status resulting in funny and poignant moments for the actors and audiences alike. This show is as relevant today as it was when it was first performed.
